Can the MTA’s “Fast Track” policy of scheduling major maintenance in the late-night-wee-hours on weekdays have done away with weekend madness? Once again this weekend there are no planned changes affecting service on any line at any local subway station. The following week there are some planned disruptions, but only in the midnight to 5:00 a.m. time frame.
On the morning of Tuesday, March 6, the A and F trains will repeat their do-si-do, with the Manhattan bound A diverted over the F line between Jay Street-Metro Tech and West 4th Street, and Brooklyn bound F trains running on the A line between West 4th and Jay. The F will return to normal service on Wednesday and through the rest of the week, but the A will continue its diversion on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. On Tuesday through Friday mornings the Manhattan bound N, which replaces the R at Court Street and Jay Street during the hours midnight to 5:00 a.m., will be diverted over the Manhattan Bridge from DeKalb Avenue to Canal Street, so no Manhattan bound service at Court, or on the N/R lane at Jay, during those hours.
