New Grimaldi’s Open at 1 Front Street, Karl Fresses and Reports [Video]

Karl Junkersfeld checks out the new location of Grimaldi’s at 1 Front Street in his latest video.

Grimaldi’s needed to move from its former location next door after it was announced that the original pizza man himself, Patsy Grimaldi, would be opening his own pizzeria called Juliana’s there.

    Seems like a better location than the previous one, but I wonder how they managed to install a coal oven so quickly. PS Another great video, Karl. Saved me a trip down there during this busy season.

    Actually Lois, the coal oven was a case of putting the cart before the horse. Grimaldi’s had already installed it w/o the required permits when they started renovating the new location. Then the city found out… and was somehow persuaded.

    “People are used to waiting in line” — I hope this doesn’t sum up their customer service ethos.

    I never eat there, tell tourists about other pizza places around, but like going to the top of the Empire State Building, it’s something some tourists Must Do in NYC.
