    I didn’t even have a cell phone then. If I remember correctly they weren’t working even if you had one.

    Well, the cell tower was on the WTC so, yeah, it didn’t work.

    Actually, there was some cellphone service even around “ground zero” although it was sporadic.

    There was no service here at all for weeks and weeks. Verizon erected a temporary cellphone tower on the docks below the Promenade because of the overwhelming lack of service.
