Homer et al, thanks for a bang-up job of hurricane coverage.

BHB did EXACTLY what a neighborhood blog should in such circumstances: kept people well and ongoingly informed.

Yes, thank you Homer. It made it easier to find out what was happening in the neighborhood. Very much appreciated. And to let everyone know that on my way to work this morning, I saw that the awnings for the new restaurant “On my Pasta!” are up where Taze used to be.

  • Wrennie

Agreed–fantastic job. After giving up on the news channels or Bloomberg giving me relevant information, I checked out BHB and wondered why I didn’t just go there in the first place. Thanks much!

Let me add my name to the gratitude list. Great coverage, Homer! I’m glad that our neighborhood made it through Irene largely unscathed. It could have been much worse. It’s a shame, however, that the OH MY PASTA awning survived.

Indeed.. awesome job. Your blog kept me plugged in even though I am on the West Coast this week. Keep rockin

Would anyone like ten yahrzeit candles bought for the storm plus two cans of Progresso Wedding Soup?

  • Alanna

Great job!! kept me informed of all without resorting to fear mongering.

  • Heightsman

    My buckwheat pancakes sustained me!

  • JL

Agreed with all of the above. This blog was a real asset to the neighborhood.

Thanks, Homer for the great job you are continuing to do with the Brooklyn Heights Blog (and thanks to Karl and Claude also).

Does anyone know how Nabeguy made out at his new home in Great Neck the first storm he had to handle after a lifetime in Brooklyn Heights?

I read that thousands of LIPA customers are out of power and so I guess thats why we have not heard from Nabeguy in a few days?
