    I thought that was pretty bad.
    The scenes of Boston were nice.

    Made it through .56 seconds. The “The Following Preview….” advert, was by far the best part….

    And can someone please tell me the point of Sarah Jessica Parker?

  • Teddy

    @AEB

    I wish I could, but I can’t. Nor can I tell you the point of Jennifer Aniston or Meg Ryan. Well, maybe they’re all like “comfort food” for some female viewers who like seeing actresses close to 50 taking on roles intended for actresses 15-20 years younger.

    Well, I suppose, Teddy, that SJP is not SO attractive that one (if one is female, presumably) feels threatened by her looks–she is “approachable.” And isn’t–or wasn’t–she something of a clotheshorse? Another check.

    Plus her light comic style is also…comforting.

    Love the blowing snow in the Plymouth Church courtyard on a windless and sunny day!

    One thing to say about SJP…I don’t know why she does it.

    Teddy, there was someone on SNL who did a great impersonation of Meg Ryan, making fun of how much she flogs her cuteness to death. I can’t find a clip, but it was spot-on.

    There are a lot of female actors who have become soundbites and caricatures. SJP has that childish shriek, Julia Roberts has that hearty guffaw (I think the only movie she was in that didn’t employ the laugh was Erin Brokovich)…it’s amusing. I don’t really mind either of them…but when a unique sound you make is in every trailer, no matter what the movie is–I think that might be saying something.

    …it says that you’re a brand.

    Ah, Sarah Jessica No Parking. I wonder if any profits from the movie are being donated to community groups in the neighborhood that had to put up with the filming …
