Cranberry’s Owner Talks to Fox 5 in Brooklyn Heights

Fox 5’s Good Day NY reported this morning on how some restaurants in the city aren’t posting their newly minted DOH grades properly. And since it’s TV they have to do a standup somewhere – they chose Henry Street’s “Restaurant Row.” All establishments on the block, between Cranberry and Middagh, are complying with the law. Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar co-owner/Cranberry’s owner Jim Montemarano got some screen time with reporter Tai Hernandez. Watch it after the jump.

Jim, sounded like an altar boy there. Hey Jim, how do you really feel about the the overzealousness of many of these food inspectors?

  • AEB

I can’t be the only person to have noticed that our old friend, Fortune House, posts no grade whatsoever.

Perhaps they have no kitchen, the food being sent pneumatically through tubes from some Chinese-American commissary located in Tashkent.

PS, good for you, Mr. Cranberry! Next stop: making (or getting) pastries made with butter rather than veg oil.

Karl, how do you know “many of the inspectors are being overzealous”?

Another local business making some air time.. I am so happy as I went to cranberry’s on a daily basis when i worked right next door at Marty’s.

    They have awsome scones.

  • malanga es malanga

Yes, the scones are fantastic. But those muffins can taste like pure Crisco sometimes. Or is it vegetable oil? Change that up, and I’ll never complain about anything again. (This week, at least)

Never was a fan of the baked goods, sorry to say… but love the coffee. LOVE the coffee…
