Happy 2nd B’Day BHB

It was two years ago today (almost to the hour) that we started Brooklyn Heights Blog.  No amount of psycho-active drug or mountain of hubris could have ever enabled us to envision the amount of growth we’ve experienced in that time.   Thank you for your support and for taking our motto – Read. Comment. Contribute. – to heart and making this a true community effort.

Mega kudos go out Qfwfq who keeps things running,  Superblogger Claude Scales who makes us look like grown-ups, Marc Hermann who is a one-man news machine and “Lab Lady” Frances Kuffel who allowed us to go to the dogs (literally).  And a special thanks to Mrs. Fink who indulges my obsession with keeping BHB growing.

You guys have definately moved upwards and onwards in the short 2 years you’ve been around. keep it up, and thanks for indulging me and Brooklyn Tattoo in our movings along..Congratulations

  • James

You provide a very useful service to the neighborhood. Thank you for the time and effort you put into the site.

Good luck and I wish you many more years.

  • CJP

Agree with James about being a “useful service to the neighborhood.”

I hope advertisers flock to the webiste and realize how closely you’re watched by people in the neighborhood. I visit your site at least twice a day from home and at least twice a day from work.

Congratulations to Homer and Co! It’s hard to believe how quickly this has become a part of my routine Internetting, both at home and at the office. I can’t wait until BHB has been around long enough for nabeguy and me to start reminiscing about the good ol’ threads :)
    Cheers to all.

I too start my day reading this blog.

It is very relevant to my life and I love it.

    Keep up the good work.

Ditto those above. I’m out of town for several weeks now, and when a neighborhood resident came up to visit, we discussed that our main neighborhood news source is BHB. I feel like I’m missing nothing about the nabe…

  • Melissa

You’re terrific! Thanks for all the hard work.

  • nabeguy

What can I say Homer? Except maybe will you offer me a job when they fire me for spending so much time on this blog?
Keep up the good work… it’s a great connector for the Heights.

As a new BH resident and BH Blog contributor, I’m happy indeed to have found this “forum,” which has, among other things, made me feel more welcome in my new nabe.

    Thanks, Homer, et al!

Thanks for your hard work – this is a great neighborhood resource.

  • Cranky

Happy Birthday – I check you every day to see what’s happening in the hood.

    Have a drink on me.

Happy Birthday and thank you for sticking with it. I moved away from BH 3 years ago to seek peace and quiet in Oregon but I keep in touch with BH through friends and by reading your blog every morning. Thank you !

  • T.K. Small

I agree with all of the laudatory remarks. BHB is a great place! Even when I was indirectly embroiled in the Pierrepont Street parking scandal I enjoyed the rough and tumble exchange of opinions.

I hope you can keep BHB going for years to come.

I agree with everything people have said. Great resource and helps me feel tied to the community.

Happy 2nd B-day BHB! Unfortunately, the blog will now be throwing frequent screaming tantrums.
