The Brooklyn Heights Association and other neighborhood organizations including groups from Boerum Hill, Prospect Heights and Park Slope have started a website advocating a middle ground position on the Atlantic Yards project.
Most of the groups had been aligned with Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn but now seem to be seeking their own path via their BrooklynSpeaks website. Both groups agree that the size of the project is out of scale with its surrounding neighborhood.
BrooklynSpeaks' principles, as listed on the website, are:
1. Respect and integrate with surrounding neighborhoods
2. Include a transportation plan that works
3. Include affordable housing that meets the community’s needs
4. Involve the public in a meaningful way
