For One Woman, The Hunt Ends in Brooklyn Heights

Brooklyn Heights is the site of this week’s “The Hunt,” a weekly real estate column in The New York Times. Former Garden City resident Anne Bauso fell in love with the neighborhood and went on a quest to find an apartment that was affordable and maybe had an amenity or two. Did she finally take the plunge in the Heights, or head back to Long Island? Find out here.

    Heather,

Nice to see your keeping up with the NYTimes. I seriously spend close to 2.5 hours daily reading that paper every day. It is a lively read day in and day out.

Talking about the Times, I was reading through a fun blog called “A Self Absorbed Boomer” (Claude’s Blog to be precise) and found this clip that I have seen a few times and still makes me laugh every time I see it. Bottom line, it is great to see the NYTimes acknowledge that Brooklyn exist. Brian Williams has fantastic comic delivery.

Did I really type “2.5 hours daily reading that paper every day.”

    REDUNDANT

I was a Econ major not English. That is my excuse and I’m sticking with it.

I love Brian Williams. His delivery of “artisinal cheeses” is what did it for me in the clip.

Urban retirement offer some advantages over an automobile dependent life in the suburbs. Walking around the neighborhood on a daily basis is a wonderful facet of living in the Heights.

@Karl: Now, wait. Maybe there’s no error. If you’re reading the New York Times 2.5 hours per day, per day, you’re simply accelerating!

Good article. It gives a good overview of many of the apt buildings in the heights. Glad she found one to her liking and is happy in the heights.

“I liked seeing people around,” Ms. Bauso said. In the suburbs, “my block was so quiet, you would never see people until the children started coming home from school. I wanted to see more life.”

    And she moved to BH?!
