BHB pal/Brooklyn Heights resident Greg “King of the iPad Newspaper” Clayman alerted us to this cool photo of a Montague Street snow sculpture from Tumblr blog Wanderlust.

It really commands the space, doesn’t it!

I first noticed it about 3 weeks ago. I was wondering how long it would last. With the winter we’re having, I’m afraid to say too long.

    Most attractive! Snow golem…

This piece of artwork is not provocative or original. It probably appeals to people who have never looked at art. The artist is using a cheap trick of self promotion. The piece speak very little about world politics or social issues and depict more a vendetta that the artist feels towards authority and his obsession with these individuals. The artist could have used this idea as a starting point and developed the ideas much much further and more intricate. People buying these pieces probably just want a controversial piece of art in their home and nothing else.As self promotion it is very successful as this article shows and he can continue with (yawn) another menagerie of different snow sculptures soon. Can’t wait to see the response on that one.

Hope the artist put money in the meter…

It looks like the skull of a TRex!

    Needs more yellow.

The artist shouldn’t leave it on the street uninsured.
