Update: No Recyclables Collection Monday; No More Garbage Collection Until Wednesday

We have now been advised by the Brooklyn Heights Association that, contrary to earlier advice the BHA had received, recyclables collection for streets south of Joralemon will not be done this Monday, which is a holiday. It will be done the following Monday, January 24. So, if you live in the affected area, please do not put recyclables out for collection tomorrow. We have also been advised that there will be no garbage collection throughout the Heights tomorrow, Monday, or Tuesday. Absent another big snowstorm, garbage and recyclables collection will go back to normal schedules following this holiday weekend.

A NYC Dept of Sanitation garbage truck just rolled by in Cobble Hill, picking up garbage. Ah, the sweet smell of overtime on a cold Saturday night.

If you know how the department works you will know that the work force is split up to two shifts 700am and 700pm.The smell of overtime was just normal working shift because of snow removal and to catch up on collection.
