The Recession Must Be Over – Gabriel Byrne’s Townhouse Goes for More than Asking

Curbed reports that Gabriel Byrne’s Brooklyn Heights home has been sold for more than its asking price. Must mean the recession is over and happy days are here again, right?

Curbed: The house at 14 Garden Place, which was originally asking $4.7 million when it went on the market at the end of October 2009, sold for $5,242,027. The buyer is an LLC that takes us to an apartment at 641 Fifth Avenue owned by Christie’s Inc.. Which makes us wonder if the new owner of Byrne’s place is a Christie’s bigwig moving from Manhattan. Meanwhile, Byrne’s heading to Manhattan, with a new apartment at 211 Elizabeth Street and a nice chunk of extra change from that townhouse sale.
