Last Stand for Magnetic Field

mfjay.jpg
It's been an action packed final weekend for Magnetic Field [97 Atlantic Avenue] with many local faves playing their final shows at the venue including a surprise appearance by indie legends Yo La Tengo on Friday night. Who knows what hijinx await at tonight's farewell bash. Check out Jay Lajoie's photos of the weekend's debauchery. Photo: Magnetic Field's William and Lee yuck it up with photog Jay Lajoie original partner Stephen Freeman.

In the meantime we're kinda feeling like this:

Actually, that is William, Lee and Stephen Freeman, who was one of the original partners in that wonderful bar that we called home!

I can’t wait for the magnet field to finally shut down so I no longer have to look and read annoying posts about it on this website!

Just expressing my firm wish it returns to serving the gay community–throw us a bone! We haven’t had a gay bar in BoCoCa/Heights area in 5 years. It’s tiresome to schlep to the Slope or East Village everytime I want to go out for quick beer.
