Brooklyn Women’s Exchange sends us this bulletin:
Celebrate American Craft Week with a unique collaboration between New York City’s oldest purveyor of handcrafted gifts, the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange, and a group of spinners who have been meeting to spin yarn at New York City restaurants and public spaces, “Spin City”.
Thursday, October 7th from 6pm to 8pm at The Brooklyn Women’s Exchange, 55 Pierrepont (between Henry and Hicks), Spin City spinners will demonstrate how they create their one-of-a-kind yarn using drop spindles and spinning wheels. Wine and Cheese and a 10% discount on handspun yarn will be available! Handcarved knitting needles will also be for sale!
Update: video of a spinning lesson after the jump.
Lynn, of Spin City, gives a lesson in spinning wool yarn to a BWE visitor this evening.
