Theater 1010's production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, directed by Montague Street resident Judith Jarosz with set design and acting by her husband, David Fuller (see earlier post about this production here), has received enthusiastic critical notice. Martin Denton, in nytheatre.com, writes:
Jarosz and her cast bring utter conviction to every moment of this production … Kudos to Ten Ten for digging down and finding the real people underneath Wilde's brilliant caricatures, without sacrificing a single laugh in the process.
Brooklyn Optimist adds:
Theater Ten Ten's tasty new version of the classic play serves up two hours of sumptuous silliness. … [T]he show is over before you realize it has begun, yet you still go home feeling satisfied and full.
The show continues through March 9. Tickets are available through Theatermania, or by calling Theater 1010's box office at 212-288-3246, extension 3. (Photo courtesy of LAB Photos.)
