Jennifer Wilkov, a Montague Street financial advisor, plead guilty yesterday to stealing over $1.6 million from investors in bogus real estate deals. Wilkov had two cohorts in the "fix and flip scam". She's also the author of Dating Your Money:
Brooklyn Eagle: Brooklyn Heights Financial…: Wilkov, 39, admitted she used her job at American Express Financial Advisors to find victims in New York City to invest in a fraudulent scheme to fix up houses in California and resell them for big profits.
Prosecutors said Wilkov and two accomplices told investors they planned to buy single-family houses in Southern California worth up to $1 million, renovate and sell them, and share the profits with investors. Investors never received any money.[via McBrooklyn]
