Karl, does this love of cupcakes have to do with your afore-mentioned “blowing up”?

I certainly understand the views of GHB and my2. What I think I meant, but did not clearly express is benefit of not interfering with the relationship that some people might have with these contractors if they are happy/satisfied. Personally I hate it when I have a decent relationship with someone and then someone else has a problem with them and then they start telling me their bad points. This type of dynamic comes up frequently within the disability community with respect to personal care assistants.

Several nights this summer I have heard beautiful music coming from a church in the front streets (Plymouth? the Catholic church on Cranberry). It sounds like some sort of choir or vocal group. Does anyone know where the music is coming from and who it is? It is absolutely beautiful.

    RE: The Coffins.

Interesting because someone asked me for directions to 6 Montague Street — not Terrace and he had a paper and said something and he also mumbled something about asbestos abatement. He didn’t want to show me the paper.

Did anyone see the police handcuff a person on the corner of Henry and Montague late yesterday afternoon. When I saw him I thought to myself that I had just seen him before that happened.

    I recognized his shirt.

ilb: Around 5:00 yesterday, the 84 had to bring in some assistance from the good lads at ESU Truck 8 for a guest who didn’t agree with the back seat of a police car at Henry and Pierrepont. Sound right?

Does anyone want to rent out a studio apartment at Clark and Henry above Tazza? It’s $1500 a month.

  • digby

    David G. – I’ll give you 900.

  • Across the Street

David G – I know someone that could maybe do $1100. Let me know if this is way too low….guessing probably it is.

lizzyb, most likely that music is coming from the Assumption Church on Cranberry. They keep their side doors open when the weather is warm, and I hear it all the time from my backyard on Middagh. I agree, it is a beautiful sound.

I’ve got a month left on my apartment and just moved in with my girlfriend. So, for a month, I would be willing to negotiate. But past that time, you would have to deal with the owner of the property.

Mayday, mayday to my2cents and KaJu: On Love Lane and Henry (east side) there are conflicting signs and people are getting ticketed and towed. This morning another one bit the dust.

Thanks, Karl, for the Crumbs info.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions on movers/storage. I got my current apartment to let me stay an extra week, so I’ll now just need to figure out a mover minus the storage, but will check out the suggestions. Thanks!

    @weegee

I saw them handcuffing him on Henry and Montague. What happened before or afterwards on Pierrepont is probably the same brush w/the law.

Come to think of it — I was driving up Pierrepont St around that time before I saw the police. That’s possibly where I saw the kid originally. I know I saw him twice. The second time with handcuffs.

I need some help! We are moving back to the area (we lived at 180 Montague four years ago) and are looking at possibly renting a 1br at BridgeView Tower (189 Bridge Street). I can’t seem to get a straight story from the online message boards on HOW ridiculously far it REALLY is from the Borough Hall lines, and HOW terribly close it is to the Housing Projects, so I’m hoping someone here can give me the lowdown. Would you rent from there? Is it so terrible, the location? The apartment complex website says it is in Brooklyn Heights/DUMBO, but it also looks to be in Downtown Brooklyn, and unfortunately I can’t get myself out there to see it in person and we need to find a place to rent STAT.

(Also, anybody know if Key Food would deliver??)

  • mudfarmer

I live in DUMBO. IThat building is directly across from the Manhattan Bridge approach(trains). The projects are within a block. Would avoid.

Thanks, mudfarmer. That’s pretty much what I figured. (My husband was so sold on the interior and the price, but I knew something was up…)
