Karl Junkersfeld Gives His 2 Cents on 20 Henry Parking Flap to WCBS-TV

WCBS-TV (@wcbstv)  jumps on a story originally reported here by the BHB community — the 20 Henry Street parking flap.   Our Karl Junkersfeld was interviewed today by the station’s John Slattery.

BHB commenter My2Cents drew attention to the ticket and tow meets obscured sign situation when he posted signs earlier this month near the 20 Henry Street construction site warning motorists of the risk they faced parking there.

Good job. I live off that block and noticed somebody removed the homemade warning posters somebody was nice enough to put up. I find it it unbelievable that somebody would go to the trouble of removing them…..!!??

We did it. Community action at its finest. No more regressive tax on hard working individuals. Now we have to hope that government agencies follow through on their commitments to correct the problem.

my2cents wish you were there with me with one of your makeshift signs. lol

Two traffic cops spotted tonight at 9:30 scribbling two tickets for two of four parked cars in this stretch.

Has anyone fought one of these yet? I got caught parking here. I saw the Temporary Construction sign but parked past the barricades and past the next sign post with the alternate side sign hidden by the scaffolding. In theory, that should mark the end of the No Parking zone. I requested a hearing by mail for the ticket and got an offer of a reduced fine ($40 from $70) or to wait and have a judge review my ticket. Has anyone else done this? Did you get a judgment yet?
