Thanks to a tip from BHB reader “Fritz” in his comment on today’s Open Thread Wednesday, your correspondent braved the chilly mist to walk half a block and get this shot, showing the plywood that had been in place since the fire two months ago removed and a new window and door installed at Montague Wine & Spirits. Can a grand re-opening be far off?

    What’s happening with the laundromat? It’s closing is a much bigger inconvenience for the people in this neighborhood.

    I poked my head in briefly. They’re open, but there’s a distinct smoke smell in the air.

    I noticed the smoke smell, which is coming from the laundry space next door. It will probably be around for a while, until more clean-up and repair work is done on the laundry.
