B’Stoner: 166 Montague 33% Sold

Eight of twenty four new condos at the Franklin Trust building at 166 Montague Street are now in contract according to Brownstoner.  The last two sold at full asking prices of around $1.6 million.   Back in January, our Karl Junkersfeld got a sneak peek at the new units and used that opportunity to lay some history on us too.  Watch the video here.

    Is there a more gorgeous highrise anywhere?
    It is just exquisite. Designed by George L Morse in 1891 just ten years before he designed the equally beautiful Temple Bar skyscraper (the tallest building in brooklyn for a while) in 1901, on the corner of Court Street and Joralemon,
    The Franklin Trust Building is a tour de force of Romanesque style terra cotta. Its proportions, detailing and workmanship are magnificent. Really, there is none better in Manhattan, Chicago, or anywhere.
