Word out today that the 11th District's freshman U.S. Representative Yvette Clarke, a Democrat, has been given a "D" rating by two Congressional watchdog groups:
Courier Life: Black Caucus…: The “D” grade comes from two Congressional watchdog groups, the CBC Monitor and the Black Agenda Report, which issue bi-annual report cards of Congressional Black Caucus members in a joint effort.
The report card notes that Clarke’s low grade is due mainly to her missing votes. However, Clarke also has the dubious distinction of being the only freshman congressmember more than a third of the way through her initial two-year term to not introduce any bills, resolutions or amendments on the House floor.
Clarke's district includes parts of Brooklyn Heights and covers Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Kensington, Flatbush, Carroll Gardens and Midwood. She has announced that she will seek re-election next year.
