Brooklyn Heights' man in the City Council, David Yassky, will run for NYC Comptroller in 2009 according the the New York Times. Yassky will be forced out of his council seat at that time by term limits.
New York Times Cityroom: Brooklyn Councilman Tosses Hat…: “The comptroller has to be someone who knows city policy inside-out,” Mr. Yassky said. “It has to be someone who has shown that he has the innovation and to get things done. That’s my record in the City Council. I created an affordable housing zoning program, an act to create jobs in the film industry. And at the same time, I’m able to keep my eye on budget in the long-term.”
