Fantastic work. It is a bit small (as the actress said to the bishop).

    Terrific, Karl–thanks!

I’m compelled to note, however, that 1948 wasn’t the best year for the holiday tree (NB my political correct-itude).

Obviously, Great Wall didn’t play its customary role in tree selection….

Notice how in 1941, the windows of Borough Hall appear to be blacked-out.

Keen observation, IL. These days, black paint isn’t necessary for the Borough President to ignore what’s going on outside his window.

Most absurd ritual ever that exemplifies all that is wrong with capitalist consumer culture/ 1 kill a tree for no reason 2 choke it with electricity running all the time 3 get electricity form fossil fuels

Soon to be relegated to the dustbin of history this pasttime

(Hey, Jen, you must be one of those tree-hugging liberals I read about in publications dedicated to…capitalist exuberance. Say it ain’t so!)
