Compared to last week, crime was down over the holiday weekend, but there were still two vehicle thefts and two car break-ins in this week’s police blotter.
A perp shook down a 13-year-old boy on the corner of Remsen and Clinton streets. The victim was approached by the older teen around 5 p.m., and the crook took the watch off the victim’s wrist. He then took the boy’s backpack and dumped out the property on the ground, stealing the backpack, a calculator and $7 cash.
A crook broke into a car and stole a $1500 laptop as well as an iPhone on November 28 at 11:30 a.m. The car was parked on Bond Street between Schermerhorn and State streets.
The next day, a perp stole a woman’s purse from the passenger seat of a car. The victim said she left her purse in her friend’s car and when she returned it was missing, along with her $200 cell phone and $500 glasses.
A car thief stole a 2005 gold-colored Lincoln on Schermerhorn Street near Court Street ton November 25 around 11 p.m.
A 2009 Honda Vespa was stolen on Wyckoff Street near Court Street overnight on November 22.
A burglar stole more than $2000 worth of electronics after breaking into an apartment on Plymouth Street between Adams and Pearl streets. There was no sign of forced entry and the stolen property included a PlayStation 3, a Nintendo Wii and a Macbook Pro.
A perp assaulted a man on Flatbush Avenue near State Street on November 25 around 11:00 a.m. The victim was attacked from behind and was punched multiple times in the face before the perp fled on foot.
