Korres Kloses

The Brooklyn Eagle reports in today’s edition that Korres Natural Products store at 140 Montague Street has closed.   The store opened in Spring 2008.

Not for nuthin’ but… we never saw a soul in there.  What are your thoughts?

A neighbor who goes there frequently told me. He was told by someone who works there that their lease is almost up and the landlord wants to raise their rent. The employee told him that it looks like they’ll be closing. That was a few weeks ago so maybe they were able to work something out with the landlord. It seems like some landlords around here don’t get it that there’s a recession at the moment and fewer people are dining out.

The Korres store was great! The women who worked there were lovely and really knew the product line, and the products themselves were outstanding! I never once had a bad experience and I was in that store at least 20 times since it opened. I can’t understand that anyone would wish ill upon a business that improved the life on Montague street. It may not have been swarming with people at all times, but the Korres store clearly had some admirers, myself included!

To the haters, your railing against something just for the sake of it.
Do you stop and think about the lives that are affected, these people
had families just like you. I hope if the day ever comes that you lose your
job people have more empathy and sympathy than your displaying.
Remember what goes around comes around. Let me ask you this did
you ever go in and get to know the people who worked there, or learn
about what they were selling. WHere is this enlightenment that I hear
so much about in this community? Hope you enjoy your new gluten free,
low fat, organically grown, environmentally sound whatever store.
