Car thefts dominate the police blotter again this week, and yet another bag was stolen from a gym locker.
A woman’s bag was taken from her locker at the New York Sports Club on Boerum Place on July 27. The woman returned from her work out to find her bag containing her paycheck and $80 in cash had been stolen. It’s the second time a bag has been taken from a locker at this location.
A woman was on a York Street bench on July 31 when she was approached by another woman screaming “Why you messing with my man?” The assailant then wieleded a wooden stick and repeatedly hit the victim in the head and the neck, knocking her to the ground and lacerating her right ear. The suspect then fled the scene, between Bridge and Gold streets on foot.
Two cars were stolen within three days on Wycoff Street. On July 28, a 2001 Volvo wagon was stolen from the stretch between Hoyt and Smith streets. Later that week, on July 31, another car was stolen from the same block, this time a 2005 Ford Taurus.
A third car was stolen later that same day at the corner of Nassau and Navy streets. The 1995 Honda Accord contained a $300 GPS device as well as a $50 cell phone charger.
A 14-year-old girl was robbed on August 1st at the Fulton Mall. A 13-year-old boy approached the girl and stole her $300 Sidekick phone from her. The boy was later arrested.
