Today I was out for a wall around the neighborhood and ended up at Fulton Landing. I never really got a clear answer as to whether the ferry was wheelchair accessible. Previously there appeared to be almost a 1 foot step to get onto the boat. However, today they were using a very acceptable ramp. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to go to Governors Island immediately, but I know I’m going next Saturday!

Actually made it out there today (late). The line to come back was dauntingly long, so I got in and held our place. We were in the last 10 or so to board. Seems the boats hold around 400 including bikes/strollers. I was pleasantly surprised that we made that next boat, except for the fact that we didn’t get to wander around at all, but at least didn’t have to instead wait for the Manhattan boat and then get back to Brooklyn.
There was still a nearly 1 ft “step” onto the actual boat itself. Maybe they have a ramp they can pull in that I didn’t see? There are also several youthful fellows working the loading/unloading process who could probably assist you, if you’re comfortable with that. Hope it works for you as it seems a great place to spend the day.
