The Henry Ward Beecher Lecture Series at Plymouth Church continues next Tuesday, December 10 with Brooklyn native, journalist and biographer Jonathan Eig,
the Pulitzer-Prize-winning author of King: A Life. He’s the author of six books, four of them New York Times best sellers. The New York Times hailed King as the ‘definitive’ biography of Martin Luther King Jr. The book was awarded the New-York Historical Society’s 2024 Barbara and David Zalaznick Book Prize, which is presented annually to the nation’s best work of history or biography. King was also nominated for the National Book Award.
Among Eig’s other books are Opening Day: The Story of Jackie Robinson’s First Season and Luckiest Man: The Life and Death of Lou Gehrig.
The lecture begins at 7:00 PM at Plymouth Church; enter at 57 Orange Street, between Hicks and Henry. Doors open at 6:30. It’s free, and no reservations are required.
