Barring any unforseen circumstances, we’re calling this New Year’s weekend (late Friday evening, December 29 through early Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024) a “green light weekend,” as there are no planned cancellations, route changes, or station skips directly affecting service at any local stations. Indded, this is true throughout the system, apart from a long-standing re-routing of F trains in both directions to the E line between Queens and Manhattan. However, if you are planning to go to or from Midtown Manhattan on New Year’s Eve, be aware that some stations will be closed and others will have entry and exit restrictions. Details are here.
The “green light” continues for the following work week (Tuesday morning, January 2 through Friday evening, January 5), as there are no planned service changes directly affecting local stations.
While there are no PLANNED service changes for this weekend and the following week, always check MTA Info for unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling. You can also get real time service alerts: register here.
