Hello, happy Wednesday. This is my first time posting here. I’m looking for a new loving home for my two guinea pigs, they’re a bonded pair. Is anyone in the neighborhood interested?

Did anyone else hear two very loud bangs, similar to the unannounced firework display on Sunday, on Tuesday morning, at about 5:50am? Super loud, not seeing it reported anywhere.

I heard the hour-long fireworks booms on Sunday beginning around 7 PM, but what I cannot figure out are the waves, seemingly carried on the wind, of some far-off music that continued until the wee hours. To me they sounded like Bollywood background music, but spouse thinks not.

The fireworks were sponsored by an Indian American group. There could have been a party too…

The Brooklyn Heights Library branch suffered flooding in Friday’s deluge. The whole basement was closed (lots of disappointed kiddos) so I’m curious whether anyone here has any updates on whether it’s all open again or if this is going to be a longer term problem.
Does anyone here know what’s happening at 269 Henry St? The building had recently been bought by a landlord with a less than savory reputation elsewhere in Brooklyn. That landlord proceeded to empty the bldg and renovate the apts. However, I walked by yesterday and saw that the building’s gorgeous signature red art-deco door had been replaced with a cheap Home Depot special. Hopefully this is just temporary and maybe the original door is being restored? Otherwise, this seems like a major Landmarks violation. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a590a3400ddf297a66118f18419cbf11ab11113b60e97f56d9fc353e3f4f54d6.jpg
Ha, you can estimate when that was filmed based on the scaffolding up across from the church – I think they took that down earlier this year. And the school just redid all of their sidewalks – much better!

I’ve seen Peter Dinklage many times over the years, always on Henry Street. Does he have a place around here?

Pier 17 has a strict rule of ending events at 10 PM.

I walked past this building yesterday and the red door was back in its place. Just thought you’d like to know :)
