After two succesive Saturday rainouts, and another drenching predicted for this Saturday, the Montague BID has said, “We’re not taking any chances,especially where pickleball [photo above] is involved.” This weekend’s Open Streets Montague will take place this Sunday, October 8, from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM. There will be three temporary regulation pickleball courts on Montague between Clinton and Henry, open for play from noon until 5:00. Paddles and balls will be available for those who don’t have them, rules of the game will be posted, and experienced players will be on hand to give free instruction in this sport that is rapidly growing in popularity (there are pickleball courts in nearby Squibb Park). “Balls will be in play all day. If you’re parked on Montague Street between Clinton & Henry, please move your car before 9am this Sunday October 8th.”
