The Citibikes that were removed from Clinton bet. Aitken and Joralemon are now all back.

So how was the Atlantic Superspreader Antic, Anyone go?

  • MaggieO

I went. Thankfully not as crowded as previous years but still hopping. Some great young teens playing rock music near Clinton, lots of the traditional streetfair food.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen more comments/discussion on imminent the Clark St station closure. Who will I have to commiserate with?!

  • Lucky Larry

Nobody went… too many people there

My photo of the Brooklyn docks in the early 1970s, after a heavy snowfall. Or maybe after a shipment from Gran Columbia had exploded, showing the area with cocaine…

I’m apprehensive about all the businesses that will suffer because of the shutdown.

One of my several photos of the cargo ships docked alongside the warehouses:

    Thank you, Yogi!

Okay, Arch, so I finally saw “The Good, the Bad & the Ugly” so now I know…

  • Jorale-man

Avoided it like the…well you get the drift.

Lights on at the small bar area next to Jack the Horse – new bar looks like it’s coming along – anyone know when they’re planning to open?

  • Lucky Larry

I have heard people say late October. Will it have a kitchen? I find walking all the way from Hicks to Henry for a bite can get to be a real drag.

  • Heightsguy

Is it separate from the restaurant meant to open in the Jack the horse space?

  • kizz

No, this is all attached just like it was before.

Lucky Larry, this place is on Hicks already.

  • TeddyNYC

I think most people were vaxxed so little chance of any super-spreader event (unless you were kidding). Now, if this was being held down south…Anyway, it was still nice to see some return to normalcy in the area even if the antic isn’t my cup of tea.

I have found that the NYC Department of Finance Customer Service Portal is essentially useless. You explain your query online and the explanation is ignored and a pat answer that has nothing to do with the problem is given.

There’s no other way to contact the DOF, e.g., by phone — and don’t get me started about the next to useless timewaster 311.

  • CassieVonMontague

I use 311 to report dead trees and it always gets results.

311 to report broken branches will direct you to 911 if you say the branch looks dangerous.

Reporting potholes or leaking hydrants never does anything.

A woman was “singing” on the roof of St. Charles Jubilee Senior Center, 55 Pierrepont St. this Friday morning at 4:30am. Woke me up.

She “sings” during the day sometimes. This is the first time I’ve heard her doing her best rooster impression.

Funny, as the part of the DOF website that accepts payments, works flawlessly.

  • Andrew Porter

I’ve been there in person. Two subway stops away then a short walk to John Street. Very helpful, too.

    Was this a SCRIE inquiry?

    No.

I spoke to a DOT employee today. Clark Street is being prepared for repaving—they’re working on all the piping that will be paved over—and the repaving will occur this coming Tuesday.

Apparently we don’t have enough sign-ups (yet) bring composting back to Brooklyn Heights. Which is absurd.

Please go sign up? (And Claude, maybe make this it’s own post?)
