More coverage of the police shooting on Montague:
New York Post: Bank Bullets: Police yesterday shot a Brooklyn bank robber who went berserk – lunging at cops menacingly with a knife – after a teller refused to give him cash, authorities said.
Andy Wilson, 27, was shot in the stomach when he refused orders to stand still and advanced on two cops with a 12-inch, double-edged knife inside a Citibank branch in Brooklyn Heights, police said.
"I heard a shot, and the guy dropped to the floor," said eyewitness Jamie Jarod, 47. "He kept coming at them. They had their guns on the guy."

A man was wounded by police outside a Brooklyn Heights bank on Monday.Police called to the Citibank branch on Montague Street at 10:05 a.m. spotted the suspect, who was armed with a knife. An officer fired one shot, striking the man in the stomach. The unidentified suspect, said to be in his 20s, was listed in stable condition at Lutheran Hospital. The knife was recovered. The investigation is continuing. It is not clear if this was an attempted robbery.
The suspect, tentatively identified as Andy Wilson of Canarsie, was struck in the lower abdomen. He was listed in serious but stable condition at Lutheran Medical Center in Sunset Park and is expected to survive.
Police sources said the officer fired only after the suspect moved toward the officer with his knife and refused to drop the weapon.
It happened at 10:05 a.m. inside the Montague Street branch of Citibank, with a handful of customers and employees briefly held hostage until police showed up.
Witness Ronald Pritchard said the suspect was knocking around the waiting line poles inside the bank and screaming for money.
"Where's the money?" Pritchard quoted the suspect yelling as he banged the knife against bulletproof glass at the teller's window. "I need the money!"
Eyewitness News talked with a woman who was inside the bank when the incident happened.
She says she heard, "boom, boom, boom." Then she says she turned around and saw a man shooting at the glass.
The witness thought the police were shooting at the window but later learned they were shooting at the suspect. He was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center. Police said he was listed in stable condition.
The knife was recovered at the scene.
