Newsday: He Wants Director to be his [Title]: What Michael Berresse really wants to do is direct. The onetime gymnast closed shop last weekend on his Off-Broadway directorial debut, the tantalizingly witty "[Title of Show]," after it had been extended four times in two separate runs at the Vineyard Theatre. Tomorrow, Berresse opens in "A Chorus Line" as Zach, the brusque director who pronounces judgment on two dozen aspiring singers and dancers. This is art imitating life scrumptiously for the 42-year-old Brooklyn Heights resident, a Tony nominee for his role in the 2002 revival of "Kiss Me, Kate" and a critical darling as an adulterous Italian in last year's Lincoln Center smash "The Light in the Piazza."
