The list of appointments to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation’s Board of Directors, released yesterday by Mayor Bloomberg’s office, did not include a last minute addition by City Council Member Stephen Levin, who represents the 33rd District, which includes Brooklyn Heights.
New York Daily News: When the new city-run Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation’s board was formed yesterday, one name was left off of the official announcement: Debra Feinberg, a top aide to Brooklyn Democratic boss Vito Lopez.
The last-minute appointment raised some eyebrows at the board’s first meeting, since Lopez doesn’t have an official slot on the board — and the Brooklyn Heights park is outside his traditional power base in Bushwick and Williamsburg.
Feinberg was appointed by Councilman Steve Levin (D-Brooklyn Heights), a Lopez protege.
According to the article, Levin said he “wants to scrap the condos” proposed to provide funding for the park, and that “Feinberg ‘shares [his] viewpoint.'”
