TwoFones alerts us that it's time once again to hit the streets of Brooklyn Heights and sing a few carols. It happens next Thursday (12/20) at 6:30pm. Meet at the First Presbyterian Church [124 Henry Street]. And now the "official" invite letter from the folks who make it all possible, The Hinkle Family:
Oh ye merry carolers, you flask swinging fools, you gallant vocalists and friends.
The brothers Zach and Ramsey will continue our family traditions this holiday season, even in the absence of our father (who will be setting up his new home in Black Mountain, North Carolina). Father Bob has given his blessing on us boys, along with our more capable wives Olida and Carrie, to lead you in the 27th annual Hinkle Family Caroling, and we hope that you join us.
For the past few years, we have been running the caroling in partnership with the First Presbyterian Church, and we will continue to do so this year, using their Elliot Room as our jump off point and our gathering place for wassail and wine after we regale the neighborhood with our dulcet tones. While we honor our church partnership, we also honor our friends from all religions, cultures, and creeds, and we hope we have as diverse a caroling this year as we have had in years past.
Come one, come all; firemen will cry when we sing them “Silent Night" and children will dance in the streets when we sing "Deck the Halls".

What happens?: Our merry band will have a musical
send off toast about 6:30pm and hit the street by 7pm. Music/lyrics will be provided. We'll carol at specific spots in Brooklyn Heights for about 1 hour (the route will be posted on the church door in case you're late). Our route (and our musical adventures) takes us back to First Presbyterian where the after party will continue in the Elliot Room until you get tired or the wassail (a recipe guaranteed to warm) runs out. Come prepared for weather with layers.
What to bring?: An edible or drinkable contribution will be greatly appreciated.
Tell your friends, and bring as many people as you like. Last year we had around 100 carolers, and we want to be up around 150 this year.
