This Saturday the Brooklyn Borough Hall Greenmarket is holding a “Meet Your Farmer – Poultry Demonstration”, with farmer Ben Shaw of Garden of Spices Farm. Ben will show us how to prepare and cook whole, pasture-raised chickens from his farm. He will also be answering your questions about his farm and slaughterhouse, sharing his views on farming, and telling plenty of funny stories.
In a time when people are trying to eat more conscientiously, speaking with a family farmer is a great way to find out some real information on production and farming. Many folks do not buy whole chickens because they don’t know how to prepare them, even though it’s much more economical.
They add that Dave’s Kitchen has an interesting interview with the Garden of Spices folks.
