As we previously reported, State Senator Daniel Squadron, whose district includes the Heights and nearby areas in Brooklyn as well as lower Manhattan, will host his second annual Community Convention this coming Sunday, April 11, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Borough of Manhattan Community College, 199 Chambers Street.
Last year, more than 400 community members attended and offered valuable feedback on 24 topics as far-ranging as school overcrowding, park planning and nightlife concerns. These discussions influenced Senator Squadron’s work at home and in Albany. This year, Senator Squadron will be seeking community members’ input on tenants’ rights, health care, ethics reform and more than 20 other topics.
The conversation will begin at 2:00 with a plenary session hosted by Senator Squadron. Participants will then gather in discussion groups on the above topics and others. The event will conclude with a reception.
If you wish to attend, please RSVP to Rosemarie Diaz at 212-298-5565 or rdiaz@senate.state.ny.us
