Alternate Side Parking Rules Suspended Tomorrow and Saturday
Update: Alternate side rules are now suspended through Wednesday, September 8. Parking meter rules will be in effect except for Monday, Labor Day. We have word from Notify NYC that alternate side of the street parking rules are suspended tomorrow – Friday, September 3 – and Saturday, September 4. Parking meter rules remain in effect.
Alternate Side Parking Suspended Through June 21
We have this from Notify NYC: The New York City Department of Transportation today announced that Alternate Side Parking regulations will be suspended citywide through 6/21. Payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the city.

Fireworks Sunday Evening
There will be a fireworks display tomorrow evening – Sunday, October 6 – starting at about 7:00 p.m., near Manhattan’s Pier 16, which is just across the East River from Brooklyn Heights. What’s the occasion? Notify NYC doesn’t say.

Again, and Again, With the Fireworks
Notify NYC lets us know that there will be fireworks tomorrow (Saturday, May 18) starting at 11:45 p.m. and on Monday, May 20 starting at 10:45 p.m. Both displays are to be launched near the Statue of Liberty, and should therefore be easily visible from the Promenade, and audible throughout the Heights.

Fireworks on Saturday Night
In case you hear something that goes boom in the night , Lady Liberty will be lit up late tomorrow night: “There will be a fireworks display near the Statue of Liberty tomorrow, 5/12, at approximately 11:45 PM. In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks display will take place on 5/13.”

Notify NYC advises us that there will be fireworks near Ellis Island — thus easily visible from the Promenade — tomorrow evening (Sunday, April 22) starting at about 8:15 PM.
