Last Minute Weekend Suggestions
Weather this weekend bids to not quite crack the ninety degree level, and some thunderstorms are expected, mostly late in the day. On Saturday, July 14, Brooklyn Bridge Park will be celebrating City of Water Day with kayaking in the Pier 1 boat basin (photo) (10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), and two activities great for […]

Hey, folks, the predicted high temperature Saturday, July 7, is 100 degrees! Sunday will cool down to a relatively balmy 92. It’s been a while since we’ve featured Bargemusic, the floating classical locale just south of Fulton Ferry Landing at the entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park. This weekend brings characteristic variety to the barge, with works for violin and piano by Brahms, Beethoven, Schubert and Sarasate. On Wednesday June 6, string arrangements of Bach, Rachmaninoff and […]

At first glance this floating white barge seems an unlikely place for a night of Jazz. But make no mistake, Bargemusic is a great place to hear some very talented musicians here in Brooklyn Heights.
