Agree, and no right-wing owner down on Atlantic (as far as I know). I’m personally waiting out to see how the FoodTown on Clinton & Joralemon pans out. If it’s decent, I may be cancelling my FreshDirect subscription.

The smoke shop at 64 Henry Street was robbed (again). The Eagle has all the details:

I’m with you – well, in hoping to save a little walking to Key on Atlantic … without bumping up the tab too much. Foodtown, like Key, is less a chain than a buying co-op. VERY heavy on private label stuff, but even if the owner of the new store has other locations – I think I read that s/he/they do – it’s a low margin business, and a new store will definitely look at the competition when setting prices. NOTHING can explain the local Gristede’s pricing adequately. Well, it DOES have an owner as unhinged as Musk, and if its lease is sweet enough, pathetic sales per sq ft may be sustainable.

    Anyone know the open date?

Crowded? Tasty? Pricey? Will be nice if we have a diner with good food in the neighborhood.

I’d guess it’s not going to be for a while. But it seems like it’s going to be a scene. I’ll stick with Clark’s or Park Plaza, thanks. Edit: Looks like it opens in April.

Thanks for letting us know that key food montague owner engages in wrongthink. I’ll be sure to go there more often and spend a lot of money.
