Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

It’s a heckuva mess this weekend: late Friday evening, December 1 to early Monday morning, December 4. It’s easier to list the trains that should be running normally in both directions at local stations: the 2 (although it will be running on a reduced schedule, every 12 minutes), 3, 4, (5 trains don’t serve Brooklyn on weekends), F, and G. Although there will be Brooklyn bound A train service at High Street (but no C trains, as they are suspended all weekend, and Manhattan bound A trains will be re-routed to the F line between Jay Street-MetroTech) and to and from Manhattan at Jay Street-MetroTech (when will they get around to calling it Brooklyn Commons?), there will be no service between there and Utica Avenue, with shuttle buses making the stops between. Effectively, this means no “train to the plane” for those going to or from JFK. Meanwhile, because of several suspensions and route changes of N and R trains there will be no service in either direction all weekend at Court street or at the N/R platforms at Jay street-MetroTech.

The foolowing work week — Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8 — there will be minimal late night disruptions. Late nights Tuesday to Wednesday through Thursday to Friday there will be no Manhattan bound service at York Street in DUMBO, but extra Manhattan bound service at High street, as Manhattan bound F trains will be re-routed to the A?C line between Jay Street-MetroTech and West 4th Street-Washington Square. Late nights all week there will be no Manhattan bound N service at Court Street or at the N/R platforms at Jay street-MetroTech, as Manhattan bound N trains will be re-routed to the Q line between DeKalb Avenue and Canal Street. However, R trains should be running normally in both directions, as should Brooklyn bound N trains.

Always check MTA Info for last minute changes in planned service or unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling.
