High Winds Cause Damage in Brooklyn Heights

Walking through Brooklyn Heights today, Martha Foley saw two instances of trees uprooted by high winds from last night’s storm, including one, in her photo, that damaged a window at Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral.

I saw the tree through the window en route to the dentist Tuesday afternoon. When I came out later, it had already been removed and cut into sections, the window boarded up.

The tree not only broke the covering glass but a bit of the stained glass itself, fortunately not visible from the center aisle when I went inside.
