The forecast for tomorrow — Saturday, July 1 — is for possible scattered showers. We presume that Open Streets Montague will go ahead as scheduled, unlike last Saturday. If so, some of the activities planned for then will go ahead this week. The pop-up blooms (photo by C. Scales for BHB) will be back between Clinton and Henry streets from noon to 5:00 PM. From noon until 2:00 PM Fred Astaire Dance Studios will offer a free dance class for all ages, no partner required, on the street outside its studio at 128 Montague, corner of Henry. From noon to five between Clinton and Henry there will be a Kids’ Zone offering “giant games, street chalk and more.” From noon to five between Henry and Hicks Super Soccer Stars will offer kids under five lessons in soccer skills, including “scoring goals, dribbling, and zigzagging, from the pros.”
As always on Saturdays in June and July, from noon until five if you take a child ages 1 through 10 to Mad for Chicken, 80 Montague (betweeen Hicks and Pierrepont Place) and order an entree, the child will get a free serving of three chicken tenders and fries.
