Open Streets Montague Tomorrow Features Market for Crafts; Pride Fest; Activities for Kids

Tomorrow’s Open Streets Montague will feature a FAD (Fashion Arts Design) Market from noon until 5:00 pm on Montague between Clinton and Henry and between Henry and Hicks.

[O]ffering everything from impeccably-crafted jewelry and apparel to bath and body care, tableware, home furnishings, and artisanal packaged food. Come for a curated selection of goods, and stay to explore Montague Street and the best of Brooklyn Heights – making a day of it!

Among the participants in the FAD Market will be the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange, whose store is located at 137 Montague.

From 11:00 am to 8:00 pm Books Are Magic, 122 Montague, will hold its second annual Pride Fest.

Stop by in the morning to sit in on a story time event and grab some goodies from the Brooklyn Book Bodega and the Lesbian Herstory Archives, or in the afternoon for a game show with booksellers and book writers followed by some wonderful discussions about queer books with YA and adult authors.

From noon to 5:00 pm there will be a Kids’ Corner at Montague and Hicks that will include giant games, chalk street drawing, “Super Soccer Stars,” and, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, a “Hype Dance Party.” As always on Saturdays in June and July, from noon until 5:00 pm if you take a child ages 1 through 10 to Mad for Chicken, 80 Montague (betweeen Hicks and Pierrepont Place) and order an entree, the child will get a free serving of three chicken tenders and fries.
