We reported earlier that the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange had moved into its new quarters at 137 Montague Street. There will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony this Thursday, November 3 at 5:00 PM. City Council Member Lincoln Restler will speak, as will Montague BID Executive Director Kate Chura and the Exchange’s President, Ann Aurigemma. Brooklyn Heights Association Executive Director Lara Birnback had these remarks:
“The Brooklyn Women’s Exchange is one of the most long-lived and cherished organizations in the neighborhood, and we are so proud that our community came together to problem-solve around their need for a new home. Over the past few years, the BHA has been working in cooperation with the Montague BID and many of the corridor’s landlords to fill vacancies and revitalize our ‘Main Street.’ We are thrilled that Mr. Calfa has made it possible for this exceptional and uniquely local store to make a new debut on Montague.”
After the ceremony, all are invited to the Exchange’s Holiday Preview, from 6:00 to 8:00, “showcasing handcrafted and locally-sourced gifts and decorations.”
