St. Charles School to Reopen

coll1.gif"MB" comments to BHB that the St. Charles Borromeo School, which has been closed since a small fire is set to reopen:

I’m told that the school definitely isn’t being sold, and they’re working on re-opening. There are asbestos issues that need to be addressed in the wake of the fire, among others.

Brooklyn Paper's Heights newshound Christie Rizk adds:

Brooklyn Paper: The mystery surrounding the St. Charles Borromeo school has finally been solved: the school will reopen.

But what kind of school? Well, therein lies another mystery.

The Sidney Place Catholic school has been closed since a small fire on Feb. 6. The Brooklyn Diocese shuttered it for good a week later, citing low enrollment numbers.

Nonetheless, rumors persisted that the school might reopen. Despite denials from the Diocese, Rev. Charles Krause of St. Charles Borromeo church was telling parents that the school would indeed reopen in September.
