Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

This weekend — late evening Friday, March 11 to early Monday morning, March 14 — 3 trains will replace the 4 in Brooklyn. The 3 will run to and from New Lots Avenue, and 4 trains will be originating and terminating at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall in Manhattan. To get to or from the Financial District use 2. 3, or R trains. There will be no service at the 4/5 platforms at Borough Hall, as 5 trains do not serve Brooklyn on weekends. Keep in mind that the 2/3 station at Clark Street is closed for elevator replacement, which the MTA says should be completed by sometime in April. Use Borough Hall instead. Also. there will be no Brooklyn bound service at the York Street station in DUMBO as F trains will be diverted to the A/C line from Canal Street to Jay Street-MetroTech. Ergo, more Brooklyn bound service to High Street. For a change, there are no planned discombobulations of service at local stations for N or R trains.

The following work week — late nights Monday to Tuesday through Thursday to Friday — discombobulation returns for the Manhattan bound N, as it will be re-routed over the Manhattan Bridge from DeKalb Avenue to Canal Street. R trains, however, should be running normally, so there should be Manhattan bound, as well as Brooklyn bound, service at Court Street or at the N/R platform at Jay Street. Also, just like last week, during the late nights there will be no F trains between Jay Street and Church Avenue, and no G trains between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church. Shuttle buses will run from Jay to Church, making the stops in between, and will also run to and from Bergen Street. F trains will run between Church and Coney.

These are the planned service changes directly affecting service at local stations. Always check MTA Info for unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling.
