Hicks Street in front has a big incline, and there’s no room for tables on Cranberry Street, so not gonna happen.

I have absolutely no idea. Pulled this off their site.

Bigger question is what will be the “mix” between beverages & food?

I don’t even want to guess beyond the obvious “drinks are easier and carry a higher profit margin.” The reconfiguring of space supports that conjecture, and there’s obviously room for both. Noise could be a problem, perhaps even more (I know it seems impossible) than Noodle Pudding.

Oh yes, there’s still paper on the windows at the old Oyster bar part of JTH’s space. Wonder what use that will have.

And I wouldn’t be so sure about Hicks St. not getting some tables. Mayor A. has made his NY-should-be-partying views crystal clear, and even in other nearby venues, there’s some “Hey, you can walk single file for 15 feet, because we’ve had a VERY tough couple of years” in evidence.

You still worried about COVID, that was so January…

You are misinformed, Fireplace surrounds are sometimes made of Brass, which has an even lower melting point than Copper.
While the temperature at the heart of a wood fire can exceed those melting points, the temperatures at the opening of a fireplace, is nowhere nearly high enough to adversely affect either of those metals.
Besides, that looks like a gas fireplace.

    Not taking the bait, Arch…

Yes, between Andrew’s point about the sloped sidewalk and the potential noise on a residential block, sidewalk seating seems unlikely to me. But yes, Adams is turning out to be the wild card when it comes to quality of life matters.

    Really, Andrew? REALLY?!

No bait, just a stand alone joke!

Fire broke out on the 4th floor of 75 Henry Street Friday night. The Eagle has the story:

Lost my glasses on Friday – they fell out of my bag on Remsen Court or Montague. Please let me know if anyone turned in a pair of eye glasses with thick lenses!

    Thank you!

If you’re on Facebook, there’s a neighborhood page that might also be a good place to check: https://www.facebook.com/groups/801697557245534

Ugh, one got stuck at the corner of Hicks/Cranberry a couple of weeks ago, it was a nightmare…

Our local precinct is up for an award!
And based on some of the photos it looks like they may be deserving to win.

This was one of diBlasio’s last decisions: https://gothamist.com/food/nyc-outdoor-dining-permanent

I’m not clear on what a restaurant has to do to X out 3 or 4 parking spaces, but it obviously hasn’t been hard. True, Hicks has way fewer eateries than Henry, but remember – With the exception of Facati’s and Noodle Pudding, ALL of them have upstairs residents who can’t all be crazy about this innovation. As for a street slope, some “sheds” resemble motor homes and probably cost far more. “Leveling” is carpentry 101. There’s a TON of money at stake – especially where drinks>eats – and I’ll bet anything outdoors will be an option by Mem. Day.

Joe Coffee, corner of Hicks and Pineapple, has two spaces, one on the street on Hicks, and the other, never used, on the paving on Pineapple. Why are they allowed to do that?

Any news on what’s moving in to Teresa’s on Montague St.? Their old sign has been taken down and Work Order Permits are in the building.
