So Citi Bike came yesterday and removed most of its racks from Clinton Street near Joralemon – only a couple months after doubling the size of the bike inventory there. Wonder what happened? Did someone complain about the loss of parking spaces? There are still a dozen or so bike spaces left but it’s not quite the Amsterdam-like assortment from before.

Supposedly Old Brooklyn Heights: I took this photo of the area under the Brooklyn Bridge after they’d finished shooting scenes from “Gangs of New York” there. There’s another shot in the reply:

CareCube Customers Hit with Surprise Covid Test Bills

    https://www.thecity.nyc/coronavirus/2021/8/16/22628105/surprise-covid-test-bills-attorney-general-complaint

CareCube has a location on Montague St were the RadioShack and Chocolate Works used to be.

  • Jorale-man

Very interesting. I was charged $225 when I went there for a test back in May. My insurance picked up just $50 of it. It sounds like they’re charging for an office visit thanks to the blood pressure and temperature readings they take before the test.

  • CassieVonMontague

I got a covid test and antibody test at CityMD on Montague St. They took my temp and blood pressure. It was free, so CareCube charging people seems deceitful.

  • Jorale-man

Very much so. So far, locally, I’ve been most happy with the Gristedes test, believe it or not. I could schedule an appointment and there weren’t any hidden charges.

Anyone know which streets will be closed on Sunday between DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill/Carrol Gardens/Gowanus for the 5 Boro Bike Tour. I can’t find any site that has these details.

The Parks Department is asking you to squish any spotted lanternflies you see. They’re invasive

    Agree.
I’m not sure why anyone would go to carecube unless I guess they don’t realize. Went in, just before getting swabbed they said it would be a couple hundred dollars. I left and went across the street to citymd and paid nothing.

Funny that you thought “someone complaining about the loss of parking spaces” would result in Citi bike stations being removed, is even a remote possibility.

Gangs of New York, a piece of cinematic trash.

Hey, don’t underestimate the pro-automobile crowd. They’re why cities are designed the way they are.

  • CassieVonMontague

In Carroll Gardens, they deflate the tires at CitiBike Stations because they’re angry about parking spots.

Still a lot of meat heads over there, aye?

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7nPOzGeyaw Arch Stanton

Most cities were “designed”before the automobile. Besides, NYC is definitely not car friendly anymore.

  • You know who this is….

I sincerly hope every one fhis blog, especially our most ardent supporters, have received the wonderful covid vax. JS.

  • WUSA

I’m not speaking to or about a certain post, I don’t respond to what I think is an A.I. program. I get better responses from Alexa. But to the actuial biological life forms present……please get vaxxed. You’ll be helping the patriotic movement…..
BTW, I counted at least fifteen Heights people up at last Sunday’s My body, My choice rally at Gracie Mansion. So…..

  • Pierrepont

Heard that has been canceled, due to Henri (which may be a hurricane by Saturday morning.)

Key Food on Montague used to have a bin for recycling plastic bags, but they stopped doing that during the pandemic. Now I either put the bags in the trash or, when I remember, take them to the nearest dog run for people to use for holding their poop.

Once I started recycling the bags, I became aware of how many I was throwing away.

  • WUSA

You are correct, it IS probably going to be a considerable time until things are properly rectified. But many present will not see the resolution of things. Your snide and alexa deep comments aside…..
BTW A LOT of Anti vax mandate protests are scheduled next week. The BIG one will be at City hall 3 pm on Wed 25th
I STILL think this is an alexa style A.I. Voice I’m addressing here…..
